Confronting Academic Knowledge
For the first time in several years, we now have a book that squarely confronts academic knowledge on the ground that it furthers and sustains Eurocentrism. A diverse group of scholars, academics and writers including Vinay Lal, Claude Alvares, Mohammad Hazim Shah, Yusef Progler, C.K. Raju, Munir Fasheh, Grimaldo Rengifo and the editors of the volume (Sue-san Gharemani Ghajar and Hamid Mirhosseini) go hammer and tongs and in the process, leave much of Western academic knowledge in tatters. Each essay is worth reading for its insights and wisdom. A rare book because so many of the essays say things that are entirely original and outside the domineering frameworks of Western thought.
